The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked 15407BC.GG.1224BC.01 is a 41mm automatic watch executed in frosted 18-carat white gold. Its openworked architecture exposes the double balance-wheel mechanism, while the hammered precious-metal finish gives the case and bracelet a granular, light-reflective surface.
Audemars Piguet creates the frosted finish through the Florentine technique. A diamond-tipped, needle-like tool repeatedly strikes the gold to form minute facets, producing a shimmer reminiscent of gem-setting together with a deliberately textured feel.
The openworked grey dial reveals the movement structure and the double balance wheels from the front, with the mechanism also visible from the reverse. Glare-proof sapphire crystal protects the display while preserving an unobstructed view of the calibre.
