Built around a chronograph, Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore 26205AU.OOD002CR.01 'Ginza 7' Chronograph Carbon Black Dial Limited Edition of 200 (2012) combines a 42mm carbon case, a black dial, and an automatic movement.
The smooth black dial — a departure from the usual "Méga Tapisserie" — carries dimensional applied black Arabic numerals with luminescent fill, three subdials with orange ring accents, and the diamond-set "7" at seven o'clock.
The reference unites philanthropy with one of the manufacture's earliest commercial uses of forged carbon — the marbled composite material adopted from Formula 1 and aerospace engineering. The 42mm case in forged carbon is configured with its signature swirling marbled striations, paired with a black ceramic bezel, sand-blasted titanium screw-down crown, and rubber-clad pushers.
The in-house automatic Caliber 3126/3840 delivers a 50-hour power reserve, its 22-karat gold rotor visible through the sapphire caseback, completed by a black rubber strap with titanium folding clasp. The case is matched to a leather strap.
The defining detail, a diamond-set "7" at the seven o'clock position, references the boutique's Ginza 7-chome address, making this both one of the most charitably significant Offshores ever produced and among the rarest forged-carbon executions in the line. Production is limited to 200 pieces.
Dated 2012, this example is offered in like new & unworn condition with its original box and original papers.
