Description
Built around a chronograph, Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore 26405CE.OO.A056CA.01 Self-winding Chronograph (2020) combines a ceramic case, a green dial, and an automatic movement.
Reference 26405CE represents the model executed almost entirely in ceramic — a black ceramic case framed by a contrasting green ceramic bezel, pushers, and crown — with titanium accents providing structural counterpoint. The case in black ceramic carries a green ceramic bezel secured by white gold hexagonal screws, with green ceramic pushers and screw-locked crown guarded by titanium pushpiece protectors.
The in-house automatic Caliber 3126/3840 — visible through the sapphire caseback via its 22-karat gold rotor — delivers a 50-hour power reserve, completed by a green rubber strap with textile decoration and titanium pin buckle.
The smoked green "Méga Tapisserie" dial is arranged with rhodium-toned counters, a black inner bezel, and pink gold applied Arabic numerals and Royal Oak hands with luminescent coating, with the date at three. The Royal Oak Offshore debuted in 1993 as the Royal Oak's bolder, more virile sibling, conceived to push the original 1972 design language into more imposing territory.
Ceramic finishing on the Offshore architecture is notoriously demanding given the material's hardness, requiring vastly more time than metal to achieve the alternating brushed and polished surfaces, and the two-tone construction makes this configuration among the more visually distinctive ceramic Offshores in the catalog.
This 2020 example is presented in like new & unworn condition and accompanied by its original box and original papers.
