Description
The configuration of Daniel Roth Extra Plat DBBD01 Rose Gold (2026) brings together a rose gold case, a guilloché sector dial, and a manual-winding movement.
The 38.6 x case in 18-karat rose gold thick, rendered in the brand's distinctive "ellipsocurvex" double-ellipse profile with welded-lug construction. The case measures 35.5mm across and 7.7mm in thickness.
After the marque passed through several hands and eventually fell dormant, La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton resurrected it in 2023. The dial pairs a white gold base bearing grey guilloché en ligne pinstriping with a 5N rose gold chapter ring separated by filet sauté engraving, accented by black Roman numerals and blackened polished steel hands.
The manual-winding Caliber DR002, developed and assembled at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, thick and delivers a 65-hour power reserve, visible through the sapphire caseback and completed by a grey calfskin strap. A leather strap completes the watch.
Daniel Roth occupies a revered place among the founding figures of modern independent watchmaking, having established his eponymous brand in 1989 following his celebrated revival of Breguet during the 1980s. The Extra Plat Rose Gold stands as the first regular-production model of the revived brand, faithfully reinterpreting the founder's original Extra Plat of 1990 — his elegant two-hand dress watch that distilled understated refinement into the signature double-ellipse form, securing the reference's significance as both homage and continuation of an independent legend.
This 2026 example is presented in new condition and accompanied by its original box and original papers.
